Happy birthday to Mortal Kombat: Special Forces!

Yes! The only true Mortal Kombat title that continues to be universally hated to this day, becomes 18 years old today! So why celebrate such a game that many add to their "worst games of all time" list?

Personally, I don't believe that the game deserves as much hate as it gets. Don't get me wrong, I hate the game myself and I'll never play it again, but to call it worthy to sit amidst the worst of the worst i.e. Superman 64 well, that's another story.

I hated the puzzle elements, I hated the clunky fighting and that terrible boulder level! But I have to give it credit for having a coherent story-line. When I say coherent, I mean better than Superman 64, which isn't really that hard to pull off. The boss fights were pretty cool too, and it's the first time we were introduced to an amazing character named Tremor; who wouldn't go on to be playable in any of the Mortal Kombat games until Mortal Kombat X.

So let's admire the game for what it was and what it introduced, because it's genuinely more deserving of the Mortal Kombat title than people realize.
